Gainesville Renewable Energy Center

American Renewables has constructed the 100 MW electric generating Gainesville Renewable Energy Center, fired by woody biomass. The project is located outside of Gainesville, Florida, on a site approximately eight miles northwest of downtown Gainesville.

GREC will sell its power to the municipally-owned Gainesville Regional Utilities (GRU), which serves 92,000 customers in and around the city.
